New QP & an Update

Thank you all so much for your comments about the issues I am having with school! It means alot to me! Heres an update: Mr. McCorkle (the super intendent) told me that the reason Kayla was kicked off the team was due to too many unexcused absenses from practice. I told him thats not true and that she only missed two! One, when Andy broke his tooth @ school and that was an emergency, I had to take him to the dentist to have it pulled. I even brought back a note from them for the coach. The other, she had a DR. appoint. and I brought back a note for that too! He told me to talk to the principle and coach about it. (This all happened last Thurs) When I picked her up from school on Fri. she had a check in her bookbag from the principle refunding the money I paid for her to play! Obviously, they wasn't going to let her back on the team even if she wanted to. I talked to the Asst. Principle Mr. Hall (he's nicer and I didn't feel like dealing with the principle again) and he asked if Kayla wanted to be back on the team. I told him no. I would not let her back on that team anyways with a crazy coach! *LOL* He told her to try out for something else. I voiced my concerns about whether or not she would be 'allowed' on another team and he said that it would be o.k. and no one will hold anything against her. He must not live in the real world. Whether he thinks that won't go on, it could! Anyways, we talked about it and they said they wanted to give home schooling a try. That is until Sat. when they went to their game (they are cheerleaders for the Rec. Dept.) and she saw her teacher that taught Chorus last year. She told Kayla that even though she had like 51 students in Chorus this year, she wants Kayla to join. She did Chorus last year and had so much fun with it. So, for now, they are staying put in this crazy school system. At least now, they know that I am not going to take any crap from them! I aslo talked to the State BOE and he informed me that they did nothing wrong by taking her without a permission slip because according to the 'law' they don't need one since its in the same school district. That just does not make any sense to me! But, alot of stuff about the 'law' doesnt make since to me either. We'll just see how things go from here! BTW, the man @ the State BOE also told me what to do with Andrew, he said to write a certified letter to the super intendent and board members telling the situation and how I want it handled and give them a time frame in which to solve this issue. We'll see what happens with that too. Our kids should be safe at school, if the 'law' says they have to go, then the 'law' should protect them, right?

'Loving Memory' Kit

Sorry I've meen MIA for awhile. (This post will probably be long, sorry. its worth it in the end) I have been having issues with my kids' schools! UUGGHH! I hate having to deal with them. They don't want to listen and they think they know everything. Kayla got kicked off the tennis team because I asked them why they took her to the elementary school for a pep rally without a permission slip. Because I asked that one quesion, it started a big war with them. I don't understand it. Kayla loves playing and I don't have a prolem with her going to pep rallys and such, but like I told the school, I need to know where my child is at all times. When I send her to school, I expect her to be there! Last year, when she was on the cheerleading team, anytime they went to pep rallys and such they had to have a signed permission slip, when I asked why they didn't need them this year, the principle got really nasty with me and said its within the law that they do not have to have one when its in the school district. Then she said Kayla could no longer go to them and then she hung up on me! Can you believe that? Not to mention that one of the tennis coachs left a mess on my machine that said they do not inform parents when the team travels and that required travel is part of being on the team. What kind of crap is that? Not informing the parents when team travels. Anyways, Thurs, the other coach came up to me while I was sitting in my van waiting for practice to be over,and she got right in my face and started fussing at me and told me that they were refunding my money and Kayla was no longer on the team. I told her to move (she was right by my door) and I yelled for Kayla so we could leave...then the coach threatened to call the sheriff on me. I was like WHAT? All I was doing was getting my child. These schools down here are sooo mixed up and I don't know what to do now from here because I now feel like my child is going to be discrimated against and may not make it on other school sports teams. I just can't believe that it came to this. I also had problems with the elementary school concerning my 4 yr. old son, Andrew. He keeps getting hurt at school. I don't think those Pre-K teachers of his watch those kids good enough. 1st he was pushed in the boys bathroom and hit the floor shattering one of his front teeth (we had to have it pulled, poor baby) and then he came home with a black eye (2days after the tooth incident)! Apparantly a little boy has been picking on him for awhile and this boy kicked him in the eye twice. I've been telling his teacher for 2 weeks prior to this that she needs to tell this little boy to keep his hands and feet to himself and off my son! When he got off the bus, his eye was purple & swollen. The teacher insists that his eye was fine when she put him on the bus. She didn't even send him to the nurse or call me about his eye. (I was there when his tooth got broke). Theres no way she didn't notice his eye! Then she lied in the accident report. I contacted the super-intendent but he doesn't seem all that concerned. This happend 3 weeks ago and still haven't heard anything back from him yet. I am waiting on a call from the State Department of Education, so I can explain what is going on. I'll keep you posted. This happened @ around 11am on the playground and this is how he got off the bus @ 4pm. Look at this pix and tell me how in the world the teacher did not notice his eye.

Anyways, on to much brighter news. I finished my very 1st kit! I hope you all like it. I always have my camera on me and I took some pretty awesome pix of the sky. You can actually see some of the suns rays shining thru the clouds. I also took some pix of a rose my husband bought me and thats when I came up with the idea for this kit. My great-grandparents passed away like 20 years ago, and even thoug its been a really long time, I still miss them terribly sometimes. Especially when I look @ my kids and think about how much they would have enjoyed them. So, from all that this kit 'Loving Memory' was created. I hope you all like it and find uses for it. Update on my Princess QPs

I just wanted to let you all know that I have had over 300 downloads between the 2 Princess QPs. I think that is so cool. Considering that I am still new at this and they were some of my first LOs that I turned into QPs. Thank you all so much for wonderful comments you've left, I love reading all of them! Now I know why so many people on their own blogs keep saying they want the comments and that it keeps them going, cuz it really does! Especially being a 'newbie' just knowing that so many people are enjoying my creations, it makes me want to do more, so if you download please leave a comment. Thanks! I want to let you all know that Lei made another fab freebie to go with the princess series, this one is in pastels. YAH! Its called Cinders Wish.. here is a preview....

LO and, yep another QP!

Hi y'all again. I forgot that I told Michelle @ Craftyscraps that I was going to post the new LO that I made for her using her kit 'Ginger Pink' and of course I made it into a QP for ya! LOL! I know that is all I've been giving you, but I am haiving so much fun scrappin with these kits, that I haven't been trying to make a kit of my own ROTFLMAO! But, I can tell you that I actually have in mind something for a kit, hopefully I'll get it all together soon. It probably will be a mini but hey, it'll be my 1st! This kit is just so cute, I had to put a pix of my baby in it. Could you all just see her doing a commerical for Verizon? Hee! Hee! This was her modeling pix taken last Oct. She wouldn't sit still for the photo shoot, so my sister gave her my moms cell phone.

Princess LO & QPs

So, my husband & I went to see Tyler Perry's new movie; 'The Family that Preys' last night. It was a good movie but I am upset about something....we are in that movie. Earlier this year I auditioned us for an extra on the movie. We went to Atlanta for the scene the day after my b-day. We are in the bar scene. It was such a long day, I had no idea the time it took to make a movie. It was kinda fun (aside for waiting around all day for them to shoot) especially seeing how a movie is done and getting to talk (just a bit) to Tyler Perry. The movie starrs Katey Bates & Alfre Woodard. Two woman from 'different sides of the track' are friends who set out on a cross country trip and find out something interesting about their children, I won't tell you all details so I don't ruin the movie for ya. The scene we were in is where they enter the bar. As they are walking in the bar, John & I are walking out, walking right past them. I couldn't wait to see the movie! Guess what? If you go watch it, the 2 blurs walking past 'Alice' and 'Charlotte' are John & I. ROTFLMAO!! I couldn't believe it, we are blurred. You can hardly tell it was us! Oh well, we know it is us and now you do to, I guess thats all that matters right? Here are a few pix of me getting ready for the scene...I did my own make-up but they did my hair. I don't really like it but thats how they wanted it. Do you think I even look old enough to be in a bar? LOL! The pix are not very good quailty, they were taken with our camera phone. Look @ the last pix, see what they did to my hair? UGGHH!

Anyways, I made these LOs a couple of weeks ago using Lei's CinderDreams kit. I just LOVE this kit! Being the mom of 3 girls, it is such a beautiful kit to scrap all their 'princess' moments! The 1st pix is of my girls about 5 yrs. ago. Kayla and John went to a Father/Daughter Dance with girl scouts and she truly felt like a princess that night. The 2nd is of my sister in her renassance festival costume that my mom made for her. Thanks Lei for a great kit! Welcome

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! I just got into digiscrappin' about 5-6 months ago and I am still learning things. I will be posting LOs that I've made and just write whatever comes to mind. I want to give a big shot out to Michelle McCoy of Craftyscraps and Jessica of Nezzidesigns. They are great designer and very nice women. They are giving this 'newbie' a chance by giving me spot in their CT. I hope to do them proud. BTW, do you like the look of my blog? Again a big thank you goes out to Michelle McCoy. She set this blog up for me and is teaching me things. Plus, she made this awesome Header. Didn't she do a great job? Round of Applause! I just love it! I will be making some QPs soon, so check back. And as I get better aquainted with my program, I hope to make you all some freebies as well as full kits! My 2 older children, Kayla & Dana, love to digiscrap too, so I may be posting some of their LOs also. My mom does this too and she is very creative so I will most definately be putting some of hers on here! I know my style of digi LOs are a little different style than most peoples but I hope you like them anyways!
