Happy New Year everyone!! Hope your Christmas was great and I hope the new year brings you all lots of joy & happiness! (Keep reading....there are some goodies along the way *LOL*)

THANK YOU + A FREEBIE

I just wanted to say a big Thank You to all of you who left me comments wishing me well thru this whole ordeal I have been going thru. It really meant alot to me! I was have been (and still am) battling a bad kidney infection and UTI (urinary tract infection). It has gotten me so ill that all I did was stay in bed for like 5 days! I didn't know that having a UTI could make you so sick. I am feeling a little better today and made you all a simple Merry Christmas Wordart. But 1st, I want to share with you all a story that my 12 yr old wrote!

As parents, we try not to let our situations, especially financial situations, affect our children but kids are so smart and even some things that you hope they don't catch on to, they get! *LOL* Its not that we try to hind our little financial set back from our kids, but we don't make a big deal out of it either. Kids need to feel safe and not threatened by such trivial stuff. So, I guess it should not have came to such a shock to me that Kayla kinda incorporated our story into her own. She had to write a Christmas Story for school for a contest and have the chance to get it published in the local paper. This really touched my heart when I read it.

Here is her story:

Merry Christmas

"Mom, I am hungry," a little girl named Mary said. "We all are Sweetie, but we have to wait till dinner. Dads paycheck has been cut, so we have to ration our food for meals."

Mom was very worried about the pay cut because she wanted her kids to have a good Christmas.

"Mom, what does ration mean?" Mary's little brother, Charlie, asked.

"It means we portion our food at each meal"

"Oh, I get it." Mary and Charlie both said.

On the other side of town, a nice woman, Crystal, was thinking of what to do this year. She always did something kind on Christmas. She had heard about a family who got their paycheck cut. She decided she would cook them a hearty Christmas meal and would buy the children presents. She picked up some toy dolls for Mary and toy trucks for Charlie. She could not wait for Christmas!

Finally, Christmas Eve was upon them. Crystal finished up the meal and wrapping the toys. She took the half hour drive to the family's house.

Mom, Dad, Mary and Charlie were all so surprised. They invited Crystal to eat with them. "Please, Mom and Dad, cand she stay and eat?" the children asked.

"Sorry, but I have to go" said Crystal, "but Merry Christmas to you all and all have a good night!"

That was her rough draft....the final is a little better, but she turned that one in and I didn't have a copy to post here. She won 3rd place and got $10 for her story and it will be published in the local newspaper.

Its funny how kids just know that things will work out...I'm just wondering who our Crystal will be......I don't use this blog to ask for money, you all know that, I just wanted to share a story that my baby wrote. But if you do feel a little in the Christmas Spirit, I do have a donation button on the right and my family would be forever grateful!

Anyways.....here is your gift tonight! A simple 'Merry Chirstmas' Wordart..hope you can find a use for it!

New Kit, Script, Freebie + some Sales!!

Have I got alot of info for you!! Remember the kit that I collabed on with Candie? How I only gave you the Elements? Well, tonight..you get the papers! YAH!! 'Tis the Season II' Papers Download

In honor of starting to sell @ Ahhh Scrap (which, BTW, the blinkie is at the right..stop by) I made a new kit! It's called 'A Snowmans Christmas' and it has 16 paper & 16 element, which includes 3 overlays! Here is a preview....

The final Peppermint stick size is 188x576 @ 300ppi, so it can be up-sized a little to fit in a full sized kit/LO/etc! Remember all my scripts are tested in 9-X2 and are for CU use! 'Tis the Season II' My Part + Exciting News!!

Boy, have I got some exciting news for y'all! 1st off, Kayla had a flute audition for Honors Band on Saturday! She was a little nervous as she had to play the 2 different scales that were 2 octaves and then 2 scales-1 octave and her Cromatic Scale! Then they had to do sight reading (this had ALL the kids soooo nervous) which they gave her a piece that she had only 30 seconds to memorize and then play it back for them from memory! I was nervous for her!! We had to wait ALL weekend to find out if she made it or not...torture! Guess what? Not only did she make it..she got 1st chair! YAH!! I am so proud of her! She really loves playing her flute and right now this is a big honor for her! Soon, she will be competing in the State Compition...will keep you updated on that!

My 2nd news is not quite as exciting but Brooke has accepted me to sell in her store (Ahhh Scrap) and I am a little excited about this! I have never sold in a store like this and have to learn how to do it! *LOL* I am working on a Snowman Christmas Kit that will be the 1st thing added! I also have made a Snowman template that I really think you all will like, so stay tuned and I will let you all know when everything is set up!

CU Freebie + Award!

It has been real cold here in Georgia for the last 2 weeks! Mostly at night though! I tell you it is crazy!! My kids have to be bundled up in coats, hats, scrafs, gloves (although they don't wear the scrafs or gloves) when they leave for school and then when they come home in the afternoon, they don't have their coats on!

There has been frost when we wake up @ 6am and we have to defrost our window, but it warm enough for no jackets in the afternoon! Crazy!

This weather really makes me homesick for Cinci. and their chili!!!! I so want some Gold Star! Well, my favorite is Camp Washington Chili but you can't buy that at the stores in cans! I'm gonna have to e-mail my friend up there and tell her my stock is out!! She sends me some cans every once in a while! Boy, I wish I had some now!

Anyways...I received 2 more awards. I am so honored! Candie gave back to me the award that I gave to her! The 'Friends forever Treasured Award' Thanks so much Candie! I am so honored! We had become such good friends so quickly and I treasure every minute!! Since I already received it (several times YAH!) I don't need to post or send it on! Andrea has given this award to me as well! Thank you so much Andrea! Lei also passed this award back to me! She has also become a very special friend to me! She put on her blog that she hopes to meet face to face one day & I think that would be awesome! We all should do that! How cool would that be? Have like a little digiscrappin convention and digiscrappers from all over meet in one centralized location just to meet and have fun..maybe trade some secrets! *LOL*

On to the Freebie! I did something that I've never done before! I made a CU! And its a greyscaled template...I think *LOL* I made this using a pre-set shape so it DOES NOT have layers! It is grey-scaled so all you have to do is use the magic wand and select that area and then fill it with whatever color, gradient or pattern you want! So easy! I put an example in the preview that is NOT included in the zip! Hope you all like it!

A whole Lotta Info!

I do not have a Freebie for you today, sorry! I have not been feeling my best the last couple of days! Aside from my sleeping being so messed up...I think that now I have a bladder infection. I was in a lot of pain yesterday! I am feeling a little better today. I took some penicillian and a water pill, so hopefully be feeling much better soon. My right arm has been hurting again, thats why I haven't been playing to much in PSP.

I have some info to share with all of you, though!! 1st off, Candie has made a beautiful kit called 'Tis the Season' and she is giving it away in parts on her blog! I have seen what she had done and it great! The best part...she is making a 'Tis the Season II' and the bestest part is she has asked me to collab on it! YAH!! Here is a preview of her 'Tis the Season pt.1' It is in animation. YAH! I just learned how to do a simple animation preview. So much better than having a big long post of previews, don't ya think??
